Windows Vista will finally replace Windows XP on 30 June 2008

Although Windows XP has proven itself to be an excellent operating system since its launch in 2001 and has been used by millions of end customers, the time has now come for a change of generation. Technology has witnessed major advances in recent years and Windows Vista SP1 is the operating system that takes account of these developments. Thanks to constant improvements, Microsoft has succeeded in overcoming initial problems and even the specialist press has recognised the numerous advantages offered by Windows Vista to end customers. Windows Vista is regarded as the most efficient and most secure Microsoft Windows Client operating system currently available. 30 June 2008 has been announced as the "End-of-sales date" for Windows XP. This means that Microsoft will discontinue sales of Windows XP licenses for direct OEMs (e.g. Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.) with effect from 30 June. The System-Builder editions which are also sold via us as authorised Microsoft System House will, however, continue to be available until 31 January 2009. End customers who are not yet willing to switch to Windows Vista have the possibility of carrying out a downgrade when acquiring a PC system with pre-installed Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista Ultimate edition. Any such download can be to the versions Windows XP Professional, Windows XP Professional x64 edition or Windows XP Tablet PC edition. No download rights exist for Windows Vista Home Basic and Windows Vista Home Premium editions. Further information concerning the download rights is available here: Downgrade Rights Please do not hesitate to contact us by telephone on 0844 835 356 or by e-mail ( info@t-n.ch) regarding any questions that you may have.
